This video - and its message of gratitude to the healthcare workforce - is dedicated to ALL hospital staff at Dameron Hospital in Stockton, California. Whatever your job there, whatever your role, you are heroes in our eyes and we thank you for your professional service and selfless dedication. A very special “thank you” to my staff in the outpatient pharmacy. Everyday you ladies rocked the concept of “customer service” and helped serve our patients with the greatest caring and compassion the likes of which I had never before seen. With smiles, gloves, masks and plenty of hand sanitizer in tow, you served the hardest hit and most at risk patients in our community and you NEVER once complained, never stepped back, never refused, never said no, never shied away from FEAR. For the first three months of the pandemic, when little was known about the virus or how it spread, you ladies were “head-on” in your approach and you never wavered once, even as we lost friends, neighbors and members of our community. The grace you displayed daily was both an inspiration and a lesson. I am today a better pharmacist because I watched, studied and followed your example. Thank you for the many differences you’ve made and continue to make for the sake of our patients at Dameron Hospital.
