Americans will stop at nothing to get their prescription drugs. According to the CDC, "One in 20 people in the United States, ages 12 and older, used prescription painkillers in 2010 without a prescription or just for the high." Overdose deaths are skyrocketing. More than 44 people succumb every day to prescription drug abuse, with nearly 15,000 dying each year from painkillers like hydrocodone, oxycodone, morphine, methadone, hydromorphone - more people than those dying from heroin and cocaine overdoses combined! These drugs are coming from trusted neighborhood pharmacies. Doctors/providers are writing the prescriptions, pharmacists are dispensing the prescriptions and drug dealers are making a fortune diverting the drugs to an eager, cash-waving clientele.
