Ripe's video: Beastie Boys Introduce Vegan Canvas Adidas Sneakers

@Beastie Boys Introduce Vegan Canvas Adidas Sneakers
Beastie Boys punk band turned hip hop icons reiterated at an event in NYC for the 30th anniversary of their second album Pauls Boutique, they are done as a band after the passing of one their founders Adam Yauch also known as MCA from cancer in 2012. The two remaining beastie boys are back with an art exhibit spanning their career and influence as a group curated by Roger Gastman plus an unveiling of a special edition Adidas sneaker. Adidas was made famous as a streetwear brand by the beasties as well as their late 80s contemporaries, LL Cool J and Run DMC. What makes these special edition sneakers so unique is that they aren't the original leather versions of the classic, but a vegan version designed by the remaining beastie boys members Adam Horovitz also known as AD-ROck and Mike Diamond also known as MIKEd as an homage to Adam Yauch. The Beastie Boys special edition Adidas sneakers are made out of off white canvas with a gum sole and are adorned with the iconic Adidas three stripes. The tongue has the Beastie's logo and was designed in conjunction with artist Eric Haze. The Beastie boys Adidas vegan sneaker release is on the heels of the collaboration Adidas had with Stella Mccartney who designed a female sneaker with yarn made with Parley for the Oceans. Some of the yarn features Parley Ocean Plastic which is made from recycled waste that's intercepted from beaches and coastal communities before it reaches the ocean.
