Rising Sun Productions's video: Mother Gaia - Give cetaceans the rights they deserve

@Mother Gaia - Give cetaceans the rights they deserve!!!
Please watch/like/share this video FAR AND WIDE to awaken the world! Dedicated to all cetaceans who have been so wrongly taken from the world due to the forces of greed and ignorance! We have caused so much suffering and pain to each other and the rest of the planet, but it's not too late to change our ways and start healing from this era of fear and greed. Visit declarecetaceanrights.org More information: Why is it so wrong to slaughter or hold cetaceans in captivity? Cetaceans are one of the most intelligent beings on our planet (http://goo.gl/6u3tpx) and have deep social bonds in the wild, much like our species (not that it's okay to do these things to other animals). The fact we are slaughtering them or enslaving them at all goes to show how we have learned nothing from the terrible crimes in our species' own history. Currently, there are multiple slaughters going on around the world. The ones that were included in the video occur in Taiji, Japan, the Faroe Islands, Iwate, Japan, Antarctica, Peru, and the Solomon Islands. Below you can learn more about each of these five. Taiji: Every year from September through March, fishermen in Taiji drive in various species of dolphin primarily for the captive industry, and NOT for tradition as they falsely lead many to believe. The drive hunts have not been around for 400 years, but only since the 1940s and on a larger scale starting in the late 60s to provide the Taiji Whale Museum with Pilot Whales (http://goo.gl/rO6Wj5). Based on population studies, dolphin populations following their migratory route off the coast of Japan have decreased due to the unsustainable nature of this slaughter (http://goo.gl/fCb14I). From a editorial in the Japan Times, "Their argument that the force of tradition justifies the herding, capturing and slaughtering of dolphins is a flimsy one. Many past cultural practices, such as slavery, bordellos and beheading were stopped for ethical reasons." Iwate Dall's Porpoise Slaughter: Dall's porpoises (not part of the dolphin family) are harpooned offshore: http://goo.gl/63osBW Killing of Whales in the Antarctic Whale Sanctuary: Made famous by the TV show Whale Wars, Japan harpoons whales in the South Pole under the guise of scientific research to escape the moratorium on whale killing. http://goo.gl/A0iza Faroe Islands: While the slaughtering of Pilot Whales there is cultural, unlike Taiji which all for-profit, it is still inhumane and cruel to kill beings with a higher capability to think and feel (not that doing so to other animals is okay either). One of the curses of mankind is our inability to think beyond what our parents tell us and think for ourselves. Slavery was part of American culture and our nation most likely would not be as "economically successful" without it (not that I'm defending it). Yet it is still wrong, right? A suggestion to the Faroe Islands that has already gained support is to start the whale watching business in place of the hunts. It would promote tourism and provide an economic boost without committing murder. See this well written article for more information on the cultural aspect: http://goo.gl/JORVSb Dolphin Slaughter in Peru for Shark Bait: The notorious and cruel shark finning industry, where sharks are dumped back in the water alive after their fins are removed, has caused 10,000 dolphins to be slaughtered for shark bait in Peru each year. Killing them in the country is technically illegal since 1996, fishermen still continue to do it due to the high price of fish bait. The law is not very well enforced and few are aware of it (http://goo.gl/6mAowZ) Dolphin Slaughter in the Solomon Islands: "The killings occurred in two spates — the first on Monday, when 700 dolphins including about 240 calves were killed, and the second yesterday that led to the death of 300 more dolphins." IMMP says there are reasons to believe there is corruption at work, and the dolphin captivity forces are behind this tragic resumption of the dolphin kill. The mass slaughter would make live dolphin trade seem like a more benign option. Traders, who can make as much as $150,000 per captive dolphin sold to dolphinariums in China, the Middle East, or the Caribbean, can claim they are "saving" dolphins by capturing them instead of letting them be killed." http://goo.gl/wFMLtW Please stop the murder and exploitation of these beautiful animals and the rest of our planet! See comments for ways you can help! Other hunts occur globally such as the dying whaling industry of Iceland and Norway and the hunts made by tribal cultures (i.e. Inuits) for sustenance.
