As of February 2018, APU has nine alumni working in various offices in the United Nations and several other alumni working as diplomats for their countries. Mr. Morse Flores, APU Class of 2006, who works as a Human Rights Officer for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights came back to APU on January 15-19, 2018 to coach students on the mindset and skills that they need to seek for a career in the United Nations. 0:17 ‘I got interested in the UN as early as a high school student’ - Mr. Flores talks about his path to the UN and why he chose APU as a step toward his goal. 2:40 'People working in the UN are people with a brand' - Mr. Flores talks about the competencies and qualifications needed for a UN officer. 5:21 'Bring out yourself in places that confront your ideas, values and attitude’ - Mr. Flores advises on how you can find your true beliefs and career interests.
