This raag is interesting as it uses two 'Ga's (third note in scale, equivalent to 'Me') and acquired its significance in the latter half of the last century. The raga bears a close resemblance to raag Nat of the Carnatic tradition. Riyaaz Qawwali hopes to bring qawwali to new audiences, while sticking to the purpose of qawwali- to use music as a medium to become closer with humanity-at-large and the power up above all of us.After a long internal debate, we've decided to make 2012 the year that we record a CD/DVD.
