With that said, my friend bought the Canon 1DX and it's amazing!!!! I made a video a few weeks back about our road trip, but there was so much good, unused footage I knew I wanted to make a second video. This is that video. I mixed in some shots with my own camera (Canon 60d) and my iphone, but 75% of this is probably the 1DX. Basically I wanted to slow it down and let the visuals of the park speak for themselves. Sequoia National Park is beautiful in the winter. The road trip took place over the New Year and we drove through the Sequoias in Central California. Sequoia National Park has been on my list for awhile now and I was happy to be able to finally check it off. Things to do in Sequoia National Park: One thing we learned from researching the national park is that there are at least two must-see trees. The largest tree in the world (General Sherman) and the largest tree in the world (General Grant). They win the “largest” record because of their mass - not height or width. Even the ones that don’t break records are amazing. The Sequoia trees are massive. If you’re looking for how to road trip Sequoia National Park, another good tip is that you’ll be able to check out Kings Canyon National Park as well. The parks are right next to each other and the General Grant tree is technically in Kings Canyon. For where to stay at night in Sequoia, we stayed in the John Muir Lodge. They also have cabins nearby but because it was winter, and the cabins didn’t have bathrooms, we chose comfort. The lodge was great! The served meals at all times of the day ($) and were very helpful with answering all of our questions. All in all, our road trip to Sequoia was a success. The park is massive and there’s a lot of room to just get out and explore. There were some crowds near the popular spots, but overall they weren’t bad. Tip: A lot of the roads also close during the winter. So when you’re planning what you want to see, make sure to check if it’s open during the winter. For example the famous drive-your-car-through-a-tree Tunnel Log was closed :( If you’re planning a trip, here are some places to see in Sequoia NP: General Sherman Tree Congress trail Giant Forest Crescent Meadow Tunnel Log from the 1930s Moro Rock Grant Grove General Grant Tree Generals Highway. Connects the two parks and is very scenic Kings Canyon Panoramic Point? Hume Lake ^Those are a lot of the top rated places we tried to see, but some of them were closed for winter.
