കൊയ്ത്തു കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ കുട്ടനാട്ടിലെ പുഞ്ചപ്പാടത്ത് മഹിന്ദ്രാ സിജെ 500 ഇറക്കിയപ്പോൾ. സമുദ്രനിരപ്പിൽ നിന്നും 4-5 അടി താഴെയാണ്‌ ഇവിടങ്ങളിൽ കൃഷി ചെയ്യുന്നത്. അതുകൊണ്ടു തന്നെ മുകളിലെ ഉണങ്ങിയ ഒരു പാളി മണ്ണിനടിയിൽ നനവുള്ള ചെളിയാണ്‌ ഇവിടമാകെ. When we decided to take a 25 year old Mahindra CJ 500D to the harvested paddy fields of Kuttanad, Alappuzha. Although the ground look solid, its more like riding on a frozen lake. This is one of many places in Kuttanad where we do farming 4-5 feet under sea level by pumping out the water from enclosed farming area.
