Robert Witham's video: Crumbling Power Station Abandoned to the Birds

Alongside a creek near a natural bridge in the middle-of-nowhere Wyoming sits an abandoned industrial building that has literally been left to the birds. This old power house was built in the early 1900s by the North Platte Irrigation Company to supply power to pump water from the North Platte River for irrigation. The company went bankrupt before completing the power house project and it has sat abandoned ever since as the elements slowly reclaim the creekside structure. The swallows have apparently decided that the abandoned power house provides a superior environment for their mud nests than the red stone cliffs on the opposite side of the creek, though there is evidence of a few purists among them who are still building nests on the cliffs. The concrete structure still stands, though the roof has partially collapsed into the building and the window glass has long been broken.
