Robin Morgan's video: KV41 Tetisheri and KV42 Hatshepsut Merytra

@KV41 Tetisheri and KV42 Hatshepsut Merytra
John Gardner Wilkinson numbered the tombs (1-21) in 1821. He entered the Valley of the Kings from the north-eastern end and called the first tomb that he encountered 'KV1'. The second tomb became 'KV2' and so on. Other tombs were added to the list as they were discovered, which is why KV46 is between KV3 and KV4 even though KV46 was created first. The information used to make this video came from a variety of sources, mostly the Theban Mapping Project which has recently reopened its website KV41 Tetisheri is possibly the earliest tombs actually in the Valley of the Kings. It was never completed, there was no burial and her body had never been found. KV42 was possibly built as the tomb of Hatshepsut Merytra, Great Queen of Thothmes III (c.1479 - 1425). It is simIlar to the tomb of the King himself (KV34) but she was not buried in this tomb. Items belonging to the burial of Sennefer, the Mayor of Thebes under the son of Hatshepsut Merytra, Amenhotep II, were found in KV42 leading some to believe that Sennefer and his wife, Sentenay used the tomb. Music. Tetisheri, Mozart - Piano Concerto No 4 in G Thothmes II , Mozart - Grabmusik
