Rock 'n' Roll Songbook's video: I Fought the Law - Crickets Bobby Fuller Four Cover - Jez Quayle

@I Fought the Law - Crickets / Bobby Fuller Four Cover - Jez Quayle
I've always loved this song. I first heard it played by The Crickets on their 1960 Album 'In Style With The Crickets', which was the band's first album after parting company with Buddy Holly in late 1958. At this time the band included the great guitarist and songwriter, Sonny Curtis, who wrote the song for the band. Sonny had often performed with Buddy Holly and Jerry Allison (The Crickets' drummer), and other band mates, and he wrote the song 'Rock Around With Ollie Vee' for Buddy. Sonny also played lead guitar on some of Buddy's Nashville recordings in 1956. The Bobby Fuller Four had a top 10 hit with this song in 1966, and in 1979 The Clash also did a great cover version. My version is mostly based in The Crickets' recording, but I think a bit of The Clash creeps in here and there. I Fought the Law, The Crickets, The Bobby Fuller Four, Cover, Jez Quayle, rock and roll, rock n roll, The Clash, Sonny Curtis
