Vol I, Into the Abyss, began the story in the 1980's with Rod as a novice diver, with the rookie mistakes and wonder of starting diving. As Rod's interest in shipwrecks develops, readers are taken through all the adventures and mishaps of exploring shipwrecks in the deep air era. Vol II, The Darkness Below, took the story forward as the sport of technical diving was born and divers began to use helium mixed gases and accelerated decompression techniques that almost overnight allowed them to venture far further offshore and discover countless shipwrecks, lost for aeons.
