@Air Niugini 737 aircrash

In September 2018 an Air Niugini 737 aircraft failed to land safely on the short runway of the Chuukese island of Weno in Micronesia in the Pacific. The 737 ended up in the sea, floating long enough for all bar one person to be evacuated safely before it sunk. The submerged aircraft still lies at the end of the runway - now protected by a buoyed exclusion zone.
