It's projectile has a small hitbox, moves extremely slowly, and deals only small damage if it connects which it may do up to 3 times. Seeing someone with a Bison out usually means they are either deliberately using it because it's awful (in which case, engage them with your least useful weapon) and are not playing remotely seriously, or are really committed to using the Dr Grordbort set.
