Giant monsters are cool. No argument there. But personally, I think it adds a whole new dimension to a scene on film when the monster and his human co-stars are in the scene together. It really helps to give a sense of scale, and also allows for more satisfying interactions between the two, instead of humans just screaming at something off-screen. For illustrative purposes, here's a selection of clips from the Ultra Galaxy movie, whose directors had a good grasp of this concept.
