@Union Minister Piyush Goyal Makes Highly Important Statement about India in Dubai
Adding another milestone to the growing bilateral relations between India and the UAE, GJEPC, the apex body of the gem & jewellery trade in India, unveiled the first of its kind India Jewellery Exposition centre in Dubai. The IJEX is a Global Business Touchpoint for jewellers to connect with international buyers. It was inaugurated by Union Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, who made some very important statements at the event. He said India is on track to more than double the size of its economy in eight years as one of the fastest-growing global economies. India looks poised to achieve a 1 trillion dollar goods exports target by 2030, as per Piyush Goyal. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement or the CEPA signed last month between the UAE and India will be a key enabler in achieving this 1 trillion dollar target, he said in Dubai where he unveiled the India Jewellery Exposition center. If you're watching this video in India and thinking of opportunities in Dubai then let us tell you that the free trade agreement between both the countries has thrown open doors of bigger opportunities and businesses of both countries should look at taking the bilateral trade to 250 billion dollars by 2030. And this is not me saying. This is the statement by Union minister Piyush Goyal himself. At the IJEX unveiling in Dubai he also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to make India No. 1 in the world not only in terms of “Made in India” gems and jewellery sector but also “Designed in India” jewellery. In fact, he said that IJEX 2022 is probably the first serious engagement between UAE and India after the signing of the CEPA, which will be coming into force on 1st of May. He also spoke about how the UAE has made commitments about their interest to invest in India - including in sectors like infrastructure, manufacturing & logistics. A huge delegation recently visited Jammu & Kashmir too. India wants a larger share of the UAE market too he said. His statements signal a huge boost in India-UAE trade and bilateral relations that are clearly aimed for the skies. The IJEX was also attended by the Dr. Aman Puri, Consul General of India in Dubai, Dr. Srikar Reddy, Joint Secretary DOC, GJEPC chairman Colin Shah, Vice Chairman of GJEPC Vipul Shah and Sabyasachi Ray, GJEPC's Executive director among many others.
