The beach is located in the hamlet Slick Sleek, Village Lebakharjo, Ampelgading, Malang. The beach is located on the far south end of the east district of Malang. Actually, the initial name of this beach is the White Sand Beach. Because almost all over this beach of white sand stretching to become very broad. But around the 1960s, the area becomes very slippery due to moss. This is because around the beach and the village was once a dense forest and frequent flooding. Eventually the whole land moss and become very slippery. Until now the area was called Hamlet, Glossy, beaches, too, referred to the community as Slippery Beach. Interestingly, the entire stretch of sand on the beach Slippery no longer white, but black. The black sand is apparently derived from the lava flow of Mount Semeru which empties into the east side of the beach. So many black sand washed downstream water in the river and into the sea Glidik make this sand away by the waves until it covers the white sand. This is a rare natural phenomenon. We can see along the coast to the opposite shore Slick incoming Lumajang district, all overlaid in black. The uniqueness makes Turkish Sleek look more beautiful. Pantai Licin terletak di Dusun Licin, Desa Lebakharjo, Kecamatan Ampelgading, Kabupaten Malang. Pantai ini berada di paling ujung selatan timur Kabupaten Malang. Sebenarnya nama awal pantai ini adalah Pantai Pasir Putih. Sebab hampir di seluruh pantai ini dahulu terhampar pasir putih yang sangat luas. Namun sekitar tahun 1960-an, kawasan tersebut menjadi sangat licin akibat lumut. Hal ini karena di sekitar pantai dan perkampungan itu dulunya merupakan hutan lebat dan sering terjadi banjir. Lama kelamaan seluruh tanahnya berlumut dan menjadi sangat licin. Hingga sekarang wilayah itu dinamakan Dusun Licin, pantainya pun ikut disebut masyarakat dengan sebutan Pantai Licin. Uniknya, seluruh hamparan pasir di Pantai Licin tidak berwarna putih lagi melainkan hitam legam. Pasir hitam ini ternyata berasal dari aliran lahar Gunung Semeru yang bermuara di sisi timur pantai. Saking banyaknya pasir hitam yang terbawa arus air di Sungai Glidik dan masuk ke laut menjadikan pasir ini terbawa ombak sampai menutupi pasir putih. Hal ini merupakan fenomena alam yang langka. Dapat kita lihat sepanjang Pantai Licin hingga ke pantai yang masuk kawasan Lumajang, semuanya terhampar warna hitam. Keunikan tersebut membuat Pantai Licin terlihat semakin indah.
