Sementara itu, jenis flora yang dominan tumbuh di kawasan pulau adalah nyampiung (caiophylum inophylum), ketapang (terminalia cetapa), waru, kelapa (cocos nucifera Sp), dan lainnya. Pulau Tikus dahulu merupakan tempat kapal-kapal untuk berlabuh dan berlindung dari hantaman badai ombak laut Samudra Indonesia. Sebuah mercusuar masih dapat dilihat tegak berdiri di pulau ini. Terumbu karang yang sangat luas di sekitar pulau ini mampu melindungi pulau dari abrasi. Sayangnya, keberadaan terumbu karang di Pulau Tikus mengalami degradasi karena berbagai faktor yang mengakibatkan semakin berkurangnya luas Pulau Tikus.
