Thank You For The Music's video: HOMBRES G: SI NO TE TENGO A TI - Santander SPAIN - Tuesday 10 August 2021

Spanish pop-rock band "HOMBRES G" perform one of my favorite ballads of theirs, "SI NO TE TENGO A TI" (1988, 4th single from their 4th studio album "Agitar antes de usar") in their concert at this year's "MAGDALENA DELUXE", in the beautiful Magdalena Peninsula in Santander (Cantabria, Spain), next to the beach and a perfect view of one of the most beautiful bays in the world. With all due safety measures this difficult 2nd year of the pandemic. SO great to enjoy a concert with clear air without smoking, and comfortably seated. I hope that stays for good! Another 1st time for me, since I never had the chance to ever see them live when I was a kid and they were publishing their biggest hits (and I was dancing to them :) ), or later when I was living abroad. So, FINALLY!! This is an iconic band in Spain. They marked an era. Basically, if you have never sung by heart some of their mega-famous hits, you are not from here ;) "HOMBRES G" -- whose name comes from an old 1935 American film noir/crime movie, in which the "G-Men" were F.B.I. agents -- were always synonymous with fun, but careful! Do not take them only lightly. David Summers' talent as main composer and lead singer is obvious, because you need to be brilliant to be able to create out of the most incredible and extravagant ideas these witty, funny and tremendously catchy hits that become the collective memory of a generation and pass the test of time. But then we also find some uncomplicated but superb ballads (my weakness is "TE QUIERO") and their more "serious"/mature work... Gems such as his phenomenal solo with piano in "TEMBLANDO", later in this concert, or their elegant and so beautiful newest single "LA ESQUINA DE ROWLAND". In short, if somebody only knows the "funny" side of "Hombres G"'s catalogue, they do not really know them. Really glad I could see them live at last! It was time! And oh, I did become a kid again! Tuesday, 10 August 2021. 10:41 pm. ------- El grupo español de pop-rock "HOMBRES G" interpreta una de mis baladas suyas favoritas, "SI YO NO TE TENGO A TI" (1988, 4to sencillo de su 4º álbum de estudio "Agitar antes de usar"), en su concierto en el "MAGDALENA DELUXE", en la hermosa Península de la Magdalena de Santander (Cantabria, España), junto a la playa y con una vista perfecta de una de las bahías más hermosas del mundo. Con todas las medidas de seguridad necesarias este 2º año difícil de pandemia. ¡Y TAN genial poder respirar aire limpio sin tabaco y sentados cómodamente en un concierto! Ojalá eso siga siempre. Otra 1ra vez para mí, pues nunca tuve la oportunidad de verlos en directo cuando era niña y publicaban sus mayores éxitos (y yo los bailaba :) ), ni más tarde cuando vivía en el extranjero. ¡¡Así que, POR FIN!! Éste es un grupo icónico en España. Marcaron una época. Básicamente, si nunca has canturreado de memoria algunos de sus éxitos archifamosos, no eres de aquí ;). "HOMBRES G" -- cuyo nombre proviene de una vieja película de crimen/cine negro estadounidense de 1935, en la que los "G-Men" eran agentes del F.B.I. -- siempre fueron sinónimo de diversión, ¡pero cuidado! Que no se los tome sólo a la ligera... El talento de David Summers como compositor principal y cantante es obvio, porque hay que ser brillante para poder crear a partir de las ideas más increíbles y extravagantes estos éxitos ingeniosos, divertidos y tremendamente pegadizos que se convierten en la memoria colectiva de una generación y sobreviven a la prueba del tiempo. Pero luego además encontramos algunas baladas sencillas pero soberbias (mi debilidad es el "TE QUIERO") y su trabajo más "serio" / maduro... Joyas como su fenomenal solo con piano en "TEMBLANDO", más adelante en este concierto, o su más reciente sencillo, tan elegante y precioso, "LA ESQUINA DE ROWLAND ". En resumen, si alguien sólo conoce el lado "divertido" del catálogo de "HOMBRES G", no los conoce realmente. ¡Estoy realmente contenta de haberlos podido ver en directo por fin! ¡Ya era hora! ¡Y, oh, volví a ser niña! ¡Gracias! :D Los "HOMBRES G" son: - David Summers: voz principal, bajo. - Rafael Gutiérrez: guitarra. - Dani Mezquita: guitarra. - Javier Molina: batería (¡y la famosa intro vocal de "Venezia"!)
