An advertisement for both Fatal Fury OVAs from Viz from the mid-1990s which were "Legend of the Hungry Wolf" and "The New Battle". The first OVA was directed by Hiroshi Fukutomi (Art of Fighting), and the second was directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi who also directed Ranma ½ Movie 2 and worked on Urusei Yatsura, Maison Ikkoku and Ranma ½ doing direction and storyboarding. All of the Fatal Fury anime releases had character designs by Masami Obari who later directed Voltage Fighter Gowkaiser and Battle Arena Toshinden and directed the theatrical adaptation of Fatal Fury.
