@3 Secret Tips to Getting Straight A's and a 4.0 GPA
Hey guys today I'm going to show 3 school tips for studying, doing homework, and test-taking. If this video improves your grades and helps reduce your stress please like and sub! Instagram: @ryan.miles_ 3 Tips to getting better grades in college and high school: Tip 1. Post Test Mortem - Study tip & hack - For your first exam study everything you can such as lecture notes, the textbook, the assignments, the labs, the practice test, practice quizzes, etc. After you take the first test spend 20 minutes reviewing it and ask these 3 questions: 1. Where did the questions on the exam come from - Notes? Lecture? HW? Slides? 2. What types of questions were on the test - Multiple Choice? True or False? Essay Questions? Coding Questions? Short answer? 3. With questions 1 & 2 figure out how to improve your study plan. When studying what material prepared you, which parts did you not realize were going to be on the test, and which parts you don't need to worry about. After doing the post-test mortem you should now have a guide on how to efficiently study for the next test or final exam, by knowing what material to focus on and how to study it. Start Fast, Finish Slow - Reduce stress on Assignments - When assignments such as homework, projects, essays, or labs are assigned you should finish 50-80% after the first few days. Then two days or the day before you should finish the rest of the assignment. Doing a lot up front helps reduce the stress of all assignments. Starting early allows you to quickly run into issues and leaves you with time to ask questions during class, during office hours, or online to the professor or TA's for help. Also you have safety insurance where if you get sick at least some of your work is already done, so you have less to do later. Tip 3. Bounce Around the Test - Test taking tip - When taking exams don't be afraid to skip problems. When you get the exam and answer all the questions you know first. You don't want to get stuck on a hard problem and miss points on the easier questions! After go back and spend some time on the hard questions. If after 5 minutes you are still stuck then try the next problem. I will bounce between hard questions throughout the testing time until I figure them out. Sometimes I'll do 1/4 of a problem and move to the next do a 1/4 there and move back to the first and see if I have any ideas now. Worse case always put down something, so maybe you can get partial credit for the problem. Hopefully these three study hacks & tips will help you all get better grades in high school or get a 4.0 in college. I'll also be posting a video soon about why you shouldn't always be aiming for straight A's as well.
