@Ryeberg Home Movie: Army Recruiters, Glasgow, Scotland
The Scots Guards is a mechanized infantry regiment that dates right back to the 17th century. It fought in the 1695 siege of Namur and the 1982 Battle of Mount Tumbledown in the Falkland Islands. Membership entails a grueling thirty-week training program, and, of course, a faith in the British Army. Notice, in the background, a busker is playing the angry protest song, 'Zombie,' by the Cranberries, written after the 1993 IRA bombing in Warrington. The statue is Donald Campbell Dewar, the inaugural First Minister of Scotland. He gazes southwards down Buchanan Street, named after eighteenth-century tobacco lord, Andrew Buchanan. This is the street in Glasgow if you want to dine and shop. Visit http://www.ryeberg.com Ryeberg publishes good essays about YouTube videos. It's a video "show and tell" for writers and artists.
