That's the mount where stands the Liverpool Cathedral, one of the largest cathedrals in the world. Based on the architectural designs of 22 year-old Giles Gilbert Scott (see also, Battersea Power Station), it wasn't completed 1978, eighteen years after Scott's death. From the top of the cathedral's 100-metre tower, the city sprawls in every direction. Ryeberg looks northwest over downtown, northeast, with a glimpse of the circular Metropolitan Cathedral, east down on Gambier Terrace, southeast towards the tightly-packed Welsh Streets of Toxteth, south towards the curling Mersey River, west to the Queen's Dock, and finally, northwest again, across the river towards Wallasey on the Wirral Peninsula.
