SEAMEOSPAFA's video: UNIVERSITY STUDENTS 1st Prize: Duriyabhirom Team Srinakarinwirot University Thailand Song 1

From September to December 2018, SEAMEO SPAFA (the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Archaeology and Fine Arts) held a music competition where interested parties were asked to submit videos of themselves playing - as a group - traditional Southeast Asian music with the use of mobile applications. The competition was developed as the Centre believes that technology, especially mobile technology, can be used as a possible tool to encourage Southeast Asian youths to be exposed to, play and create traditional music. Embracing the use of technology can not only contribute towards preserving traditional sounds in how it ensures continuity of practice, but can also participate in the strengthening of local cultural identities.
