Subscribe for more videos Video Jhon Paul Lato Statement from PCG INCIDENT REPORT: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) responds to a reported maritime incident involving Philippine-flagged cargo vessel, MV The Good Fortune that encountered engine trouble at vicinity 8.5 nautical miles east of Ubay, Bohol and 13 nautical miles west of Maasin, Southern Leyte this afternoon, 25 October 2020. Said cargo vessel departed from Naga, Cebu at around 06:00 p.m. yesterday, 24 October 2020 going to Bicol. Immediately, the PCG deployed MCS-3005 from Aduana Wharf, Cebu City to conduct search and rescue operation, as well as inspection for possible incident of oil spill. While underway, the PCG maintains active and direct communication with the vessel captain to ensure that all crew remain safe and sound until further assistance is provided. Moreover, all Coast Guard Stations and Sub-Stations in Leyte and Bohol are alerted to prepare for possible vessel and personnel augmentation. As of 02:00 p.m., Coast Guard Sub-Station Ubay has deployed AB-096 from Port of Ubay, Bohol onboard PCG personnel trained on SAR operations and oil spill inspection to support MCS-3005. Update as of 04:00 p.m. — The PCG Command Center received the following info from Captain Charlie Jesus B Solleque of MV The Good Fortune: 1) Said cargo vessel anchored at vicinity 5.53 NM SE off Pres Carlos P Garcia, Bohol is now conducting engine repair 2) All 14 crew members are in good physical condition 3) Rough sea condition with cloudy sky and light rain showers
