Shartoya Jn.Baptiste's video: Drowning - Ashley Skerritt SHR Dance Concept

@"Drowning" - Ashley Skerritt || SHR Dance Concept
This piece is personal and symbolic. I suffered from a heavy depression a couple years ago. Everyday felt like I relived the same day over and over. I was in a daze, watching the days go by, and while I wasn't saying anything out loud, I was screaming for help on the inside. I was numb, lost, drowning in negative thoughts, insecurities and fears. As stupid as it sounds, I felt like I deserved it. Fortunately, I'm better now, but I still wanted to show what it felt like for me.  Fun fact: I chose a waterfall because whenever I am going / went through something emotionally draining, I always dream of oceans, pools or mass bodies of water.... it's like my safe space is the sea...
