it was Good Friday 29th March 2013 a dear friend had invited me over, while she was on the telephone i was busy staring outside into their Beautiful Garden, then noticed one of my favorite Butterfly's the Ulysses with all it's Glory to be seen, & it didn't mind me being there as it was busily feeding from the Beautiful flowers but wish it stayed still for just a little bit as it seemed to fly all over the place. i hope you enjoy this Magnificent Tribute to the Most Amazing Butterfly " The Ulysses " The ulysses butterfly is found on every continent except for Antarctica. It is found in most tropical areas like Northern Queensland, Northern islands of Australia and Papua New Guinea. They live below the Canopy in a Rainforest. They eat Nectar from flowers,when they are feeding they also pollinate the flower. When flying or feeding they can be easily seen. When wings are closed they easily camouflage. There wingspan is 100 - 130 mm (9 cm). There caterpillar is green and white to blend in with the plants it feeds on. They are a dull brown color under their wings and adults have metallic blue wings with a black border around. There easy to recognize because of its electric blue wings. They have four wings that overlap. This butterfly can see something blue 30m away. The Ulysses Butterfly is the symbol for Tropical Queensland. The Ulysses butterfly is one of the most biggest butterflies in Australia. Its common name is Blue Mountain Butterfly.This butterfly has thousands of lenses in each eye. It has no lungs but instead it has little holes on each side of its body to breath through. It has green blood.
