This mural was to honor the Los Angeles Black Panthers who had a shoot out with L.A.P.D. at the L.A Black Panthers headquarters on 41st and Central in 1969. Black L.A Historical Figures Also Disrespected: Loren Miller: Was an African-American journalist, civil rights activist, attorney, and judge in L.A Miller argued some of the most historic civil rights cases ever heard before the Supreme Court of the United States. Loren was chief counsel before the court with Thurgood Marshall, in the 1948 decision that led to the outlawing of racial restrictive covenants, Shelley v. Kraemer!! Charlotta Bass: Publisher and owner of The California Eagle, the West Coast’s oldest Black newspaper. She would run also for vice president. . .
