SLEEPER's video: TRUMPETS FOR UKRAINE

today marks 50 days since russia attacked ukraine. crazy. i made this imaginary tribute concert. it samples ukrainians and artists from around the world, over 30 different artists are featured. with lots of trumpet! trumpets were used in war, to distinguish different armies. they would play specific/hidden melodies that only their army knew. it's also my favorite instrument. five months after 9/11, u2 performed at the super bowl. many people consider it one of the best halftime shows ever. i’ve never seen it before and watched it around the time russia attacked ukraine. the performance had a giant projection behind them that scrolled through all the names of people that died. all while “where the streets have no name” is soaring. it was very gorgeous and haunting. i took edge’s guitar and built this piece on top of it. it was therapeutic making it, feeling helpless and yet so privileged to be able to make art during war. ukraine reddit has been rocking. the charities they’re supporting are cool and totally legit. gogogogo! https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/comments/tgc00n/want_to_support_ukraine_heres_a_list_of_charities/ Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness.
