SOFIA Telescope's video: SOFIA Runs on Teamwork

SOFIA Chief Pilot Troy Asher describes the teamwork that made the New Zealand Deployment so successful and powers the SOFIA mission every day. Many partnerships contribute to SOFIA's success every day and during its first Southern Deployment to New Zealand. SOFIA's partners include NASA and DLR; NASA Ames Research Center and NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center; USRA and DSI. SOFIA is the largest airborne observatory in the world, studying the universe at infrared wavelengths, capable of making observations that are impossible for even the largest and highest ground-based telescopes. During its planned 20 year lifetime, SOFIA also will inspire the development of new scientific instrumentation and foster the education of young scientists and engineers.
