GILLIAN WHITEHEAD: Poroporoaki In her work ‘Poroporoaki’, Gillian Whitehead reacts to, transcribes and builds upon recordings of Richard Nunns performing on the pūtātara, karanga manu, tumutumu, poi awhiowhio and pūtorino. The piece is dedicated to Richard Nunns, “with heartfelt thanks and wonderful memories of the exploratory road we travelled together for over 20 years.” The New Zealand String Quartetperforms ‘Poroporoaki’ at the 2019 Adam Chamber Music Festival in this Resound film.
