Nuwara Eliya: නුවරඑළිය நுவரேலியா, meaning "city on the plain" . The city was founded by British in 1846. It is located at an altitude of 1,868 m (6,128 ft) and is an important location for Tea production in Sri Lanka. Central Highlands of Sri Lanka is the newest World Heritage Site (from July 2010). The site incorporates three protected areas: 1. Peak Wilderness Sanctuary 2. Horton Plains National Park 3. Knuckles Mountain Range Nuwara Eliya czyli "miasto na równinie". Założone przez Brytyjczyków w 1846 roku. Znajduje się na wysokości 1868 m i jest ważnym miejscem dla uprawy herbaty na Sri Lance. Od lipca 2010 Central Highlands jest wpisane na listę Światowego Dziedzictwa UNESCO i składa się z trzech obszarów chronionych: 1. Peak Wilderness Sanctuary 2. Horton Plains National Park 3. Knuckles Mountain Range
