Make that 6 ALCo twin videos in a row: January 1st, 2018! What better way to start new year with a thundering ALCo twin blast! Before the mayhem, let's hear the story - December 31st, 2017...I boarded the 17604 Prashanti Nilayam Express to experience an end to end journey from Yesvantpur to Kacheguda via the beautiful Dhone - Falaknuma single diesel line. I had a wonderful ride behind LGD's third white stallion - from Yesvantpur to Guntakal. From Guntakal, we changed directions after a loco change from Electric to Diesel and...Gooty WDP4D took charge. Soon after, we were slowly being trolled behind a freight and that resulted in an hour's delay. Meanwhile it was time for the 12798 Venkatadri Superfast Express to depart Gadwal Junction. We were at Sriramnagar, just two stations ahead of Gadwal Junction...soon...I started to think about the possibility of an overtake courtesy of the Venkatadri. Soon, we skipped Ajjakolu , Wanaparti Road , and Konnur...there was no sign of the Venkatadri Superfast Express closing on us. However, fate had something else in store for me...remember the freight we were trailing? Thanks to it, we were made to halt at Kurumurthi for about 10 minutes. The Venkatadri Superfast was at Wanaparti Road now! Oh the horror of it all, we departed Kurumurthi without being overtaken. I was surprised that we weren't hitting MPS after Kurumurthi...considering that the freight was quite ahead of us now and we wouldn't be crawling. I began to wonder what the reason was for some time when we started crawling even more! Soon, Kaukuntla was in sight...we were entering the loop line! Adrenaline started rushing through my veins! My heart rate increased...and soon, the starters were given on the mainline! IT WAS AN OVERTAKE! Soon, I started to hear some extremely loud chugging sounds and some honks. This was it. It was surely the Venkatadri Superfast Express. I started recording the video, my dad held me so that I wouldn't fly off due to the impact of the train. There came the twins...the 12798 Chittoor - Kacheguda Venkatadri Superfast Express blasted past us at flat 105kph with some terrific track sounds...hauled by Kazipet WDM3A and Kazipet WDG3A .
