Since the second chapter in Legend mode is complete, we now head back into Adventure Mode (and we'll be here for awhile since A LOT of stages open up as you will see). Today's romp in Adventure Mode features a rush to unlock one of the four hidden characters Princess Ruto, a character often dubbed as one of the worst in the game. How well this claim holds up will be tested later. The reason to go after unlocking characters first is so that their rewards will become available on the Adventure Map. In fact, some of the squares we already completed need to be completed again with other characters due to being unavailable. We'll get to those later as well. First stage is a very quick map to defeat 10 enemy captains, which are Gibdos. But since everything on this map dies in one hit, and they are slow there should be no problems here. 2nd stage features a battle where Darunia takes to the field again to defeat enemy captains and lure out the enemy commander. This is a simple task and with the both Heart items in the process. Third stage is the first example in which we learn about the true horror of having to defeat X number enemies as a mission. As it turns out, Enemy Warriors and Bosses will start to spawn with every 100 KOs you manage. Bosses like Gohma are so fast, they can move at the same speed a Warrior can sprint, leading to some serious harassment when trying to rack up your KO count. Not only this, but Enemy Warriors on these types of maps are always trying to execute a plan where when enough time passes, all the enemies get stronger. By stronger, they deal about 50% more damage each time. Without Co-op, these stages are pretty stressful if you want that A-rank (and I sure do!)
