Small Sailboat Cruising's video: Generations of Tasmanian craftsmen in wood

@Generations of Tasmanian craftsmen in wood.
This is the story of generations of boating legacy and craftsmanship in wood. Victor Dudley Round was my grandfather. He and Daphne build a shack at Dodges Ferry on the Eastern side of the Derwent River near Hobart. Well known as the location of the Tasmanian Wooden Boat Festival. My mother shared wonderful memories of endless summers spent at “Dodges”, firing up the boiler to cook sugar bags full of fresh crays. Mum shared gripping yarns of Victor running before a stiff South Westerly, clawing his way past Red Ochre Beach and around the headland to the safety of Dodges in his timber put-put. Perhaps that is what instilled the pull of the sea in my life and the inspiration behind building Moonlight. But this story is not about Moonlight. Rather it is the story of Manful Round and a Table he built from King Billy Pine to be enjoyed for generations. Manful Round, my great grandfather, was a talented cabinet maker.. His work was displayed at the Tasmanian Exhibition on the Domain Hobart in the late 1800's He left a marvelous inter-generational legacy that my brother and I discovered in the parlor of my grandfather’s Doges Ferry home when we were boys. Rebecca Round, married Graham, my uncle, and she recently celebrated her 90th birthday at her family home at Tranmere on Hobart’s Eastern Shore where she cares for her garden and her chooks. This is the story of a beautiful table made of tears and wood, left for his family by Manful Round https://sailingmoonlight.com https://www.patreon.com/sailingmoonlight Follow Christophers Adventures in Moonlight on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/christopherjsly www.linkedin.com/in/christophersly Get Updates on Twitter: https://twitter.com/dinghymoonlight Join us at Fraser Coast Dinghy Cruising https://www.facebook.com/groups/frasercoastdinghycruising/ Get more information on Christopher and learn how Business Pilot can help you in your small business. www.linkedin.com/in/christophersly https://businesspilot.com.au I am here to mentor regardless of where you live, on land or sea. chris@businesspilot.com.au +61 (0) 421 713 140 -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "Fiberglass sailboat restoration.
