Small Sailboat Cruising's video: Sailing Trailer Boats Great Keppel Island

@Sailing Trailer Boats. Great Keppel Island.
We sailed from Yeppoon to Great Keppel Island in our trailer sailer for a well-deserved break, after completing stage one of our sailboat restoration project. All for the love of Sailing Trailer Boats You might be looking forward to retirement, expecting more time enjoying your passions such as your family and even sailing. Still, when you get to the “final quarter”, things like heart health, joint pain and cognitive issues tend to restrict or even derail your plans. By purchasing here it won't cost you any more, and I get a small commission to help me keep on pumping out the videos. After an early start, and all the rush and tear of getting prepared for the trip, it was nice to stop at a rest area in the historic town of Gympie for a relaxing breakfast and a cup of tea. From Yeppoon, we plan to sail out to Great Keppel Island which we plan to use a base from which we can explore the Keppel group of islands. Milly enjoyed a romp on Kemp Beach just over the headland from the boat ramp. You pass by Middle Island where we dropped in for a chance to stretch our legs on the way to Leeke’s Beach where we anchored for the night. We crossed over the Creek at the end of Leeke’s beach and climbed the small headland that overlooks Second beach which also offers a safe anchorage. There are around 14 beaches in total at Great Keppel, each offering shelter from the wind no matter where it is coming from. Great Keppel Island is one of the best places on the Great Barrier Reef to enjoy bushwalking with amazing vistas, secluded beaches, and historic sites. After an enjoyable walk, highlighted by a close encounter with a small group of Peacocks and feral goats we returned to Mozart to compensate for all the activity with a shot of carbs, including Denise’s amazing fruit cake which sustained us throughout the trip. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Keppel_Island The islands were named by Captain James Cook in April 1770 after the then First Lord of the Admiralty, Admiral Augustus Keppel.[3] The island is circled by 27 kilometres of beaches. There are 17 beaches in total on Great Keppel Island. Some of the fringe reefs surrounding islands in the Keppel group have 60 - 70% coral cover. The area had severe flooding in 1991, then in 2006, an extremely low tide caused a lot of coral bleaching. Fortunately, most of the coral reefs are dominated by fast-growing species. Pumpkin Island is just a short sail North, and like Great Keppel, it is privately owned. The Island is 14 kilometres from Yeppoon and covers just six hectares. You may remember a well-known beer promotion that was produced on the island. They offer simple beachside accommodation, and we definitely put this one on our wish-list. For now we happy to simply anchor in the idyllic Bay and take some time to absorb a novel and have a power nap. The atmosphere was taking on a familiar golden ambience as nightfall loomed, highlighting the dramatic granite headland that embraces the Roslyn Bay Marina.
