We sailed our cruising dinghy Moonlight from River Heads near Hervey Bat to the Mackenzie Jetty on the West Coast of Fraser Island. We explored the abandoned WW11 Commando training camp. Halfway across the Great Sandy Strait near Hervey Bay our boat caught fire. Quick action with a fire extinguisher saved the boat but my foot got barbequed. Sailing Moonlight.
