Small Sailboat Cruising's video: What makes pleasing lines Wooden boat design and build

I built Moonlight without any plans. I didn’t do any technical things like lofting. I had a set of frames, patterns for the stem and stern. The frames had some notches in them which I ignored. She turned out pretty well, so what makes pleasing lines? That is where the “eye-sweet” terminology comes about. John, my mentor was strong on that, and somehow it came together pretty well. I did have a lot of black and white photos I took of the boat John originally built, but she was from king billy pine, another even more rare Tasmanian timber. King Billy bends and works differently, and therefore creates a different shaped hull. The videos I create here are possible because of the work I do in my day job as Wood Underfoot.
