Small Sailboat Cruising's video: Completed trailer fixes boat launch fail Fiberglass boatworks Ep 5

@Completed trailer fixes boat launch fail. Fiberglass boatworks Ep 5
I started out on these fiberglass boatworks by making the boat trailer roadworthy. A pleasant day out on the water starts with arriving safely at the launching ramp. The old trailer was et up for a boat launch fail, and when I launched the boat off the old trailer, there was lots of stress and strain on everything. It tipped on its side and was in danger of catching a gunwale in the current which could have been disastrous. When I replaced the bearings, I discovered 2 out of the four had collapsed, one of them completely destroyed, including the hub. I was surprised I got it home without any heat buildup at all. If it had the weight of the boat on it I am sure with would have resulted in a complete meltdown beside the road. Both mentally and mechanically if you know what I mean! Restoring the boat trailer Prt 2. Fiberglass boatworks Ep 5 *** Trailer regulations differ from one place to another. We live on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, so all my comments are from personal experience, and comply with our local requirements for legal roadworthy trailers. It's up to you to check that any repairs you make comply with your local requirements. Consult your local professional trailer mechanic to ensure you are legal and roadworthy.
