For those of you who have been following me each week with my tips we are now up to tip No 10. It’s been fantastic to have you and I hope you have enjoyed all the tips and you have found them useful. So the final myth that I would like to demystify is that Cold Calling can make or break your business. It absolutely is true. Those businesses that are encouraging their salespeople to pick up the phone and start conversations are getting more business. There’s no doubt about it. It is one element in your sales toolkit but it’s the one element that most businesses can’t fully exploit and that’s because 92% of the Australian population don’t know how to pick up the phone. They don’t know how to start the conversation and therefore they don’t pick it up. If you have a really strong opening the conversation just flows from that point. Really good salespeople will tell you that they never close because their opening is so strong. They take the listener on a journey and that listener just wants to buy what they are selling. So it’s a really important thing to start those client conversations and it will help in building a successful sound business.
