Man charged with dangerous driving over Finglas incident A man has been charged with dangerous driving after a car rammed two garda vehicles in Finglas, Dublin. The incident happened at 9pm last night as gardaí pursued a car that was driving at speed in the Cardiffsbridge Road area in Finglas. After the collision, gardaí were able to "contain" the car in the Abbotstown Avenue area. The man, who is in his 30s, was arrested and taken to Blanchardstown Garda Station. He is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court later today. Five other men, who were passengers in the car and aged between their late teens and 20s, were also arrested at the scene. They have since been released from garda custody. No one was injured in the incident. Gardaí say they are investigating all the circumstances behind this incident. Dublin Region Assistant Commissioner Pat Leahy said: "I commend the members of An Garda Síochána who dealt with this reckless and dangerous incident tonight. "This incident clearly demonstrates there are a minority in our society who have no regard for public safety on our roads but also have no regard for public health during this Covid-19 emergency. "The message from An Garda Síochána is that we are fully resourced and will take all proportionate and legal action to protect the public health of our communities at this time."
