This is Sun Tan 101 So, why do we get tanned? When the skin is exposed to uv rays, it starts producing more melanin to protect our skin from further damage. Frankly, it is very difficult to reverse tan but what we can do primarily is to exfoliate so that the layer which is tanned goes away as the fresher skin layer appears. This is what cell turnover all about, right? Let’s approach sun tan with two primary steps: 1) PROTECT YOUR SKIN for this step, I recommend you to use sunscreen and try to limit your skin’s exposure to direct sunlight by seeking shades, using hats and umbrella etc. Also, you can an pair antioxidant serum with sunscreen for preventing free radical damages more effectively. You also can choose sunscreens with centella, niacinamide, licorice root extract because that would protect your skin from uv rays while evening out the skin tone and soothing the skin.
