They just came off a miserable 3 and 13 season and one of the best players from college, Chase Young, was staring at them at a position that they didn’t necessarily need. They already had Ryan Kerrigan and Montez Sweat as their edge rushers. They also had Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne, and Matt Ioannidis on their defensive line as well. Clearly taking Chase Young was far from a need…. However, with him being debatably the best player in the entire draft, Ron Rivera simply couldn’t pass on him.
