San Francisco International Airport's video: Mask On SFO Short

When you do travel, SFO wants you to . Wear your mask. Stay six feet apart. Wash your hands. We hear it over and over again and sometimes it feels like a chore. That’s why our amazing crew at SFO wanted to switch things up by communicating these critical health reminders in a way that is thoughtful, engaging and memorable. The result: SFO’s first ever music video! We knew the talents of our SFO team run deep, so when we put the call out for help creating our music video, we were thrilled to receive responses from all across the airport— gate agents to custodians to airfield crew to engineers. We tapped Rob Gray, civil engineer, to write, compose and perform the song. On sax, we have mechanical engineer, Mark Costanzo. Former international breakdance competitor Ryan Louie, project manager, provides a cameo. Choreography and dancing was led by Robin Brown, brand manager and Julie de los Santos, custodial supervisor. We hope you have as much fun watching it as we did making it. And remember – wear a mask, keep safe distance, and Travel Well! In the Video: Robert Gray, aka Rob G, is an SFO civil engineer who started rapping when he was 18 years old with a group called TMC. He began writing his own music and lyrics at age 12. Gray was recruited by SF State University to join the wrestling team and graduated with top honors. Gray has made several rap albums, teaming up with New York artist Straight TMK and Ghetto Poet Society. He has played football with several Bay Area semi-pro teams over the years. Mark Costanza (saxophone) is a mechanical engineer who when forced to evacuate his home during the 2017 fires, took his valuable sax with him. He hadn’t played in 16 years but watched YouTube videos to learn to play again, and now he moonlights in a band. Julie de los Santos (custodial staff lead dancer) immigrated here from the Philippines in 2006 and began her career as a cabin cleaner for United Airlines. She was eventually hired as a custodian at SFO and was promoted to supervisor in 2014. Julie is one of seven children and regularly sends money to her mother and siblings back in the Philippines she says so that they can have a better life. Jeff Littlefield (cameo) is SFO’s Chief Operating Officer who began his aviation career in college, as a ramp agent for United Airlines while attending San Diego State. He also worked for America West, and TWA before becoming an SFO employee and working his way up the ladder to second in command. His favorite pastimes include football, boxing, motocross racing and whipping up his signature dish - homemade Jambalaya! Ryan Louie (break dancer) is an engineer and project manager who used to compete in international breakdancing competitions. He’s showing off his stellar moves in the new Harvey Milk Terminal 1. Louie performed in the 2002 NFL AFC title game where he was part of the halftime show with LL Cool J and Amerie. Robin Brown (choreographer) is SFO’s brand manager who choreographed much of the video and is featured as a backup dancer. Robin earned her dancing stripes as a Song Girl at George Washington High School in San Francisco.
