San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce's video: Working Lunch with Kim Bisheff

On Friday, October 30 we went LIVE with Cal Poly Journalism Professor, Kim Bisheff! Kim shared how she first discovered the Central Coast, beginning her career at the LA Times, and what she's hopeful for in the future of journalism. About this week’s guest: Kim Lisagor Bisheff teaches journalism at Cal Poly, where she specializes in public affairs reporting, media entrepreneurship, and news literacy. She worked at the Los Angeles Times and Outside magazine before becoming a freelance writer, author and lecturer. Her most recent book, “Disappearing Destinations” (Penguin Random House, co-authored with Heather Hansen) won the Outstanding Book Award for General Nonfiction from the American Society of Journalists & Authors. Kim chaired the journalism program at Cuesta College from 2012 to 2016 and has taught journalism at Cal Poly since 2004. She writes frequently about the spread of misinformation through social networks.
