Iquitos Loreto La Amazonía Peruana. La tierra de mi mami. La primera vez que vine tenía 3 años. El hablar cantado suena a familia para mí., y me siento orgullosa de eso. Siempre he abrazado la selva con ganas. Sobre todo por el calor. Hace harto calor, y a mi me gusta el calor. También me gusta la ciudad plantada en medio de tanto verde, como si las casas y edificios, tiendas y restaurantes hubieran crecido del suelo, de la tierra blanca. Todo está cerquita, todo está apretadito y todos son parte de todos. No hay una expectativa de ser amable, solo una expectativa natural de tener que interactuar. Esta vez mi madre y yo nos hospedamos en una casa de mujeres. Creo que hasta el gatito que mi tía siempre consigue para que cuide la casa, también es mujer. Mi tía, mi prima, mi otra tía, su hija y su nieta. Todas nos juntamos a comer. O a hablar. O a simplemente no hacer nada. Cuando las veo ahí, buscando la risa en cada esquina, me siento orgullosa de conocerlas. Qué fuertes. Por cuánto han pasado... Especialmente mi abuela, con tantos años de experiencia. Linda, Justita. Mi mejor inspiración en momentos de debilidad son mi familia y sus historias. Aquí he conocido a las mujeres más bellas, pues consienten y aceptan sus cuerpos como son. Tal vez el calor es parte responsable de esta comodidad, de que revelen sus pieles, blancas o morenas, y de que se adornen sin miedo con patrones alegres y diversos. Coronan su seguridad o desinterés con una sonrisa o un insulto. Sea lo que hagan, se ven lindas y únicas. Aunque me muera de calor no puedo aún con el agua fría. Siempre tengo más frío que otros, por eso recalco que me gusta mucho el calor. Mi tía esta lista, mi mamá también, y yo sigo ahí mojándome por pedacitos. Brazos. Pies. Esto toma tiempo. Finalmente camino al chifa. Aquí todos los chifas son pollería, y hay un montón de chifas. Pero definitivamente aca he comido uno de los chifas más ricos del Perú. Mi tía lleva su olla para que se la llenen de sopa wantán. Con yapa por favor. Pues vamos a comer bien. The first time I came I was 3 years old. That sung accent while talking sounds like family to me, and I'm proud of it. I've always hugged the selva eagerly. Overall, because of the heat. It's very hot there, and I like the heat. I also like the city being planted in the midst of so much green, of the white dirt. Everything is close by, everything is tight and everybody is part of everyone. There is no expectation of being nice; just a natural expectation of having to interact. This time my mom and I are staying at a women's house. I even think that the cat my aunt always manages to find to take care of her house, is also a female. My aunt, my cousin, my other aunt, her daughter and her granddaughter. We all get together to eat. Or talk. Or to simply not do anything. When I see them there, looking for laughter at every corner, I feel proud to know them. They are veyr strong. They've gone through so much. Specially my grandma, with so many years of experience. Beautiful Justita. My best inspiration for the weakest moments are my family and their stories. Here I've met the most beautiful women, for they pamper and accept their bodies just as they are. Maybe the heat is in part responsible for this comfortableness, for them revealing their skin, white or dark, and decorating it fearlessly with bright and diverse patterns. They crown their confidence or disinterest with a smile or an insult. Either way, they look beautiful and unique. Even when I'm burning hot, I still can't handle cold water. I'm always colder than other people, and that's why I highlight that I love the heat. My aunt is ready, my mom, too, and there I am, still getting wet bit by bit. Arms. Feet. This takes a while. Finally on our way to the Chifa. Here all the chifas are rotisseries, and there are a lot of chifas. But I've definitely had one of the best chifa meals here. My aunt takes her pot so they fill it up with wonton. Please gift us a little extra soup. For we are celebrating. Pilarita and Sandrita are here, so please, a little extra.
