Originated essentially from Italian cuisine, Pizza has garnered many fans from India. Better than the average store bought Pizza Sauce, this one is much more authentic and flavorful. PIZZA SAUCE Ingredients 2 cups fresh tomato puree 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped 1 medium onion, finely chopped Salt to taste Crushed black peppercorns to taste ½ teaspoon paprika 1 teaspoon red chilli flakes ¼ cup tomato ketchup 3-4 basil leaves + for garnishing Pizza dough 8-12 mozzarella cheese cubes for topping 1 medium tomato, finely chopped for topping 4-6 black olives for topping Method 1. Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan. Add garlic and sauté for 2 minutes. 2. Add onions and sauté till golden brown. Add tomato puree, mix and cook for a minute. Add salt, peppercorns, mix well. Add ¼ cup water and mix, and cook for a minute. 3. Add paprika, chilli flakes and mix. Add tomato ketchup and sauté on medium heat for 5-7 minutes Add basil leaves and mix well. 4. Remove from heat and set aside. 5. Spread a ladleful of pizza sauce on a pizza dough. Top with cheese cubes, tomatoes, olives and basil leaves. Bake for 5 minutes.
