@COVID-19 and Child Malnutrition: BBC World News Speaks to Save the Children
Speaking to BBC World News, Anindit Roy Chowdhury, Director - Programmes & Policy at Save the Children elaborated how hunger poses a bigger threat to children than Coronavirus. He said that with the closures of Anganwadis and schools, children are missing out on nutritious food as they are not getting mid day meals. Anindit called for humanitarian agencies to step up the efforts to provide holistic relief to the worst-hit communities because children need help NOW. He also emphasized the need for government to link communities to social protection schemes.
