Save the Children firmly believes that the Early Childhood years are the most crucial period in a child’s life and has been working towards provisioning of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) as one of our key strategies to prepare children for learning. Further, the New Education Policy 2020 lays importance on universalization of ECCE and highlights it as one of the ‘key long-term thrust areas for financing’. In this regard, Save the Children has partnered with Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability (CBGA) to undertake a first of its kind research that estimates the “Cost of Universalising Early Childhood Education (ECE) in India”.
