Two years ago I asked viewers to suggest budget options to replace my Benchmade 940. Back then I had different reasons for wanting to change out my main edc... Here are the results in a ranked list according to my personal use needs. I show which work great and who didn't make it to picture day. I also discuss the massive amount of great new knife options that we have popping up. New steel at bargain prices, new manufacturers, new designs in locks and handles. I wonder about the issue this has in flooding the market with what I call " pretty " knives, or knives that look good but that are not really good for heavy use. Awkward flashy designs with slippery shiny handles and impractical blades shapes. It is interesting to watch, and nice to have choices to be sure ! Healthy competition is always good for the consumer I think, its just a matter of wading through the choices.
